GAL GEORGE GJURIN (born November 12, 1978), award winning Canadian & Slovenian musician, singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer working and living between Canada and Europe.
He has presented his original music live in Canada, Slovenia, USA, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia, Iceland, Croatia etc.
In 2022 and 2021 he has won three OMA Music Awards (Toronto, GTA, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada), for Best video of the year (for "SECRET") and twice for Best song of the year (Durham), for "I DON'T WANT TO MEET YOU IN HEAVEN" and "SHINE". In 2022 he was also nominated for Producer of the year ("SHINE").
In 2020 and 2021 he has obtained a double title of semi-finalist in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S., at the International Songwriter Competition, reaching top 50 among 25.000 songwriters (for songs "SECRET" and "MY SOULMATE").
Besides being a lead vocalist he plays over 50 instruments. As a songwriter, bandleader and music producer Gal has so far published 17 studio and live albums with his own original music, arrangements and lyrics, always supported by extensive touring, focused on European concert venues (concert halls all sizes, theatres, auditoriums, sports halls, international festivals and various interesting great sounding outdoor venues), thus presenting original Canadian music and diverse culture outside Canada's borders.
Gal's music is a rich fusion of powerful songwriting, his wide ranging baritone voice, tasteful instrumentation and ingenious mix of different genres of music, such as:

One of his outstanding touring achievements was a 2-year European tour (2013–2015) with a full 80-piece symphonic orchestra, for which he’d written more than 5.500 pages of symphonic scores. For his work he’s received nominations and awards in Europe as well: Best original chanson composition award 2005 (RTV/European Broadcasting Union), Best composition in advertising 2019 (International-SOF), double National first prize for best Slovene poetry 2000 (JSKD), a nomination for Best book of the year 2002 (International Slovenian Book Fair). His poetry has been translated into seven languages and is found in anthologies.
